I made mistakes, I broke pieces, but it still looks great, and in the end, the parts will move – if I rotate the gear manually. The music box is hooked up but just doesn’t have enough power to turn the gears itself. I’m very “heavy-handed” with stuff – whether it’s sewing, writing, or assembling. I always crank things way down, pull things really tight, or press way too hard. I snap pencil lead, and stuff I knit or crochet can stand on its own; I do NOT have a light touch. Even though I waxed all the pieces as instructed – and yes, all the gears turn as they should – I’m sure I just cranked down too much when assembling the whole thing. I’m fine with that; it’s still a gorgeous kit to look at, and it would probably only get played once or twice anyway.
Great quality kit and I will definitely do more in the future from ROKR.
